Welcome everyone to Drive Florida's FREE series of drives called Revs and Bevs, where we embark on a 30-60 minute drive to give you a preview of what our larger events are like. We'll finish up the drive at an establishment where we can enjoy some wonderful beverages. FREE to attend! Drinks available for purchase at the brewery after the drive. This will be our third Revs and Bevs event! The first took place in Gainesville, FL and finished at First Magnitude Brewery in November 2018. The second is scheduled for April 26, 2019 in Orlando at Castle Church Brewing. This time around we will be ending at Due South Brewing in Boynton Beach, FL. We will disclose the starting point to everyone who is signed up. Only 1 registration per vehicle is required. Starting point will be sent out via email 48 hours prior to the start of the event (Thursday May 23 at 5:00pm). Creative Development and IBM, leaders in information technology and artificial intelligence, have partnered to provide a series of hackathons to address and deliver solutions for pressing issues surrounding targetedcommunities in West Palm Beach. The pair plans to use IBM's unique design thinking process to help participants (community members and leaders, police officers, SMEs, city officials, and the general public) develop a bridge of communication and understanding of how different systems (e.g. education, health and wellness, emergency response, housing, government resources, etc.) in their communities can be improved to providebetter quality of life. The first event will take place in the Historic Northwest at the Salvation Army Community Center at 11am on Saturday, May 18th. The event will require teams to agree on an issue in the community, and use IBM's design thinking process to come up with a solution. The teams will later put together a presentation to pitch their solution and process in front of city officials and tech & business experts. Lunch and snacks will be served throughout theday and all participants will receive goodie bags and Hack the Community t-shirts. Hack the Community is a 1 day hackathon event to take place in the Northwest community of West Palm Beach, FL on May 18th for all ages. Hosted by Creative + Development, in partnership with the City of West Palm Beach, the Knight Foundation, Salvation Army, and IBM, Hack the Community is dedicated to introducing technology as an innovative approach to solving problems facing communities in the education, health care, housing, emergency response, and other systems as community members, city officials and leaders work together in teams to develop solutions (and prototypes) using IBM design thinking process.
